## How to Get The Job

You can get the job at the City Services counter. If you don't have a vehicle you can [/taxi](/basics/overview#taxi-service) and have it take you to the GPS marker you have. The marker is a white shield seen below.

You can always get the job back by coming here and requesting it again.

## Getting To The Job Area

You can also use [/taxi](/basics/overview#taxi-service) to take you to the job area. You'll find the job set up around Los Customs in the middle of Los Santos, north from the City Services Counter.

There is also a Los Customs shop set up for people to customize their vehicle there, as well as a crafting bench.

## Getting A Job Vehicle

The jobs vehicle can be obtained by standing in the 'Y' of the asphalt patch, just outside of the shop. Use your [third-eye](/basics/overview#third-eye) to interact with the garage.

## Getting Paid

Like many other jobs in the city, mechanics get paid on a regular schedule known as a 'tick'. The amount you are paid is based on the role of your mechanic.

Additionally, mechanics can create invoices for other players to charge them for their services. For information on invoices, visit the [invoicing](/basics/overview#invoicing) section of the player guide.

## The Job Shop

You can access things you need to make repairs by using the [third-eye](/basics/overview#third-eye) to target a tool chest near the vehicle lift and blue jack.

## The Job Sign-Off

If you want to go off duty, you can use the duty location to do so. Use your [third-eye](/basics/overview#third-eye) to interact with the door and select the option to go off duty.

<Warning>
  Going off duty will require having to select the job again from the job center.
